“Successions,” curated by MOCA, featured contemporary works by African-American artists loaned from private collections and galleries in Virginia, Washington, D.C. and New York.
This exhibit was paired with: “Generations” is a collection of African-American art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Featuring works by celebrated African-American artists including Romare Bearden, Alison Saar, Jacob Lawrence and Faith Ringgold, this exhibition includes painting, drawing, prints, sculpture and photography.
