Sam Hughes: Happenstance

August 7 - November 21, 2015

Opening Reception, Friday, August 7th 5-7pm at MOCA's Satellite Gallery at Towne Pavilion II in conjunction with First Friday ViBe in the new Virginia Beach Creative Arts District.

Sam Hughes has had a love affair with photography for about thirty years. This relationship continues to grow as Hughes trawls through Coastal Virginia, finding joy in the arcane, quirky, and abstract.  Using a 1969 Polaroid Land Camera and a self-invented process, he has included a new element of chance in his latest body of work.  Hughes’ careful eye and inexact process meet to reveal the imperfect and the beautiful.

Sam Hughes: Happenstance will be on view at MOCA's Satellite Gallery at Towne Pavilion II.

SATELLITE GALLERY

Open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm.
