Virginia MOCA proudly celebrates its 23rd juried exhibition, New Waves 2018. This annual tradition presents a small portion of the vast array of artistic talent found in our Commonwealth. MOCA would like to thank juror, Cay Sophie Rabinowitz, and all the artists who submitted entries.

Juror: Cay Sophie Rabinowitz (born in Norfolk, Virginia) is Director of OSMOS, a network of independent editorial and curatorial platforms based in New York. The brand OSMOS was founded in Berlin in 1997. Rabinowitz has been Senior Editor of Parkett and Artistic Director of Art Basel as well as faculty at Columbia University and Parsons. Rabinowitz has edited and published numerous monographs and critical essays on modern and contemporary art and culture. In 2011 Rabinowitz launched OSMOS Magazine to be an art quarterly “about the use and abuse of photography” wherein established practitioners are featured alongside the next generation. A recognized art world insider, Cay Sophie Rabinowitz, is known for her highly professional, yet deeply personal approach.
