Children ages 3-8 and their caregivers are invited to join us each month as we look, learn, and make in response to themes from our current exhibitions. This live streamed program for families will include close-looking at artwork, reading of a storybook, and a making activity inspired by the theme.
Looking to Learn encourages valuable social emotional skills that help children ages 3-8 build and develop greater empathy, understanding, and respect for their peers and community.
Register to attend. After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email with details about joining the event on Zoom.
The theme this month is Speaking Up. In the program on Sunday, July 25th, we will be looking at And I'm Calm, Calculated and Perfectly Aligned by April Bey from our exhibition She Says, reading the book Say Something by Peter Reynolds. Our making activity will be hanging statement signs, as we use our voices to speak up for something we care about.
We will have a limited number of free art kits (30) available for pick-up Thursday, July 15th - Sunday, July 18th. Kits are available while supplies last and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. (If there are still kits available after the first weekend of distribution, kits will also be available Thursday, July 22nd - Saturday, July 24th).
The art kits will include the following supplies:
