Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health (KCBH) has been working with children and teens struggling to maintain their mental health since 2011. Through art, the teens at KCBH express themselves in ways that are as unique as their journeys to mindfulness. We are thrilled to share Kempsville Expressions with you in partnership with MOCA.
About the Teacher - Joseph Austin, (“Mr. Joey”), has been teaching students with special needs for 7 years. He graduated with a BA in World Studies, a M.Ed. in Christian Education. While an undergraduate he studied art at the VCU School of the Arts and now shares his talent and skills with children of all ages. He uses his artistic gift to show children how to tap into their own creative ability, developing beautiful works with their own hands and imaginations.
