Compostable Materials: Bioplastics
Instructor: Annie Temmink
We all want ways to be more ecological with our work, but it can be daunting to know where to start or what to use. Explore the wild realm of compostable bioplastics and gain the confidence to use these ecological materials in your work. Learn about various compostable materials including bioplastics, gelatin, and plant materials, and discuss how artists are using them now. Then learn how to make your own, working with a few simple ingredients to make samples you can use in your projects. Students will also be provided with resources for going further with this technique beyond the workshop.
This program has been organized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is supported, in part, by the Paul Mellon Endowment and the Jean Stafford Camp Memorial Fund.
