Migrant Series was inspired in part by great American authors including John Steinbeck, Zora Neale Hurston, Flannery O’Connor and Langston Hughes, as well as Andrews’ own ancestry. The resulting oil and collage works depict migrants of the dust-bowl era to California and African-Americans to the north. Organized by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans.
